(NOTE: It does not have to be a kid's very first flounder. We just want to recognize young flounder catching achievement)

Camryn Ard caught her first flounder on Thanksgiving Day 2008. Way to go girl!


Rylan Dunaway, age 5, caught this pretty flounder (his first) at the Surfside Jetties. The flounder wasn't quite a keeper & was released to swim another day.



Hamilton Moye at the time with his first fish: a flounder. Although it was too small to keep, he had no problem with his "PaPa" putting it back to grow up.


Colton Elkins, caught this 22-incher at the Galveston Yacht Basin using mullet last November. What a big flattie!

A blast from the past. Flounder Revolution reader Bill Reeves sent in this pic of his daughter Lindsey with her first ever flounder caught in 1982 at Rollover Pass. If you need to know why Rollover is important, this pic should say it all.

Garrett Nicholas of Lake Jackson with a whopping 23-incher he caught on live shrimp. At the time he was only five years old.  His family volunteers at Sea Center Texas and when they catch a big flounder bring it in to donate for broodstock. Way to go guys!

Garrett's sister Grace, age 6, with her first flounder also caught near Freeport on live shrimp. It was donated to Sea Center as well.


Hunter Leslie Hinojosa, age 5, of Dickinson, Texas, landed her first 
flounder at 17-1/2 inches while fishing with her mom and dad under the 
Kemah/Seabrook bridge. Dad only helped to net it.
Jack Rolen, age 5, caught his first flounder off the pier at deep hole park in Clear Lake Shores, TX, and this trophy was released for another day. The big holding the fish from behind Jack is his proud dad, Amos.

David Thomas Walko caught this beautifully spotted flounder while fishing with his uncle, lure guru Steve Walko, near Galveston.

Blake Abshire caught this 12-inch flounder in Oak Island Dec. 31, 2007. Blake started fishing when he was 4 and has been fishing ever since. 


Jacob Sparks caught this 17-inch flounder in West Galveston Bay on live shrimp.



Ryan Wall age 8 was fishing with his Paw Paw in Galveston Bay off their pier in La Porte when he caught his first flounder, this 14-incher.

   
Jamie Shofner age 5 caught his first flounder at the Packery Channel in 2008 with dead shrimp while fishing with his dad. The fish was not a keeper but this picture was.


Mason Salling 9 ½ yrs old caught 19 inch Flounder at Mitchell's Cut in Sargent TX and was released to grow even bigger!
